The Mental Health Foundation Australia has announced $40,000 in small grants to help youth mental health in Wyndham.
The money was raised at the Avalon Dance Stars on the Floor competition, which was held in Hoppers Crossing in July.
The event was chaired by Mental Health Foundation Australia’s multicultural ambassador Heather Marcus and dedicated to the memory of her sister Nanette Smith.
The $40,000 Youth Mental Health grants will be available to individuals and organisations operating within Wyndham’s municipal boundaries, which can demonstrate their effective interventions to promote youth mental wellbeing to the grants committee.
Applicants will able to request grants of between $500 and $5000.
The youth mental health activities requesting funding must start after February 1 next year and be completed by October 31 next year.
Applications for the Youth Mental Health grants will close on December 15 at 6pm.
Applicants will receive a notification about the outcome of their applications via email.
