Men charged after Derrimut shooting

Two men were charged following a shooting in Derrimut this month where a 20-year old Tarneit man subsequently died at a St Albans hospital shortly after 2.35am on September 4 as a result of his injuries.

A 26-year-old Cranbourne man and a 25-year-old Narre Warren man were subsequently arrested following a pursuit in Pakenham on September 7.

The pair were interviewed by police in relation to a number of incidents including a fatal shooting in Ivanhoe on September 2, a stabbing in Wyndham Vale on September 4 and an attempted car jacking in South Yarra on September 4, as well as the Derrimut shooting.

The Cranbourne man was also charged with attempted murder in relation to the stabbing in Wyndham Vale.

The pair have previously been charged in relation to the Ivanhoe death.

Both men are already in custody and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in relation to these matters at a later date yet to be determined.

The investigation remains ongoing.
