Market celebrates all things Point Cook

All things Point Cook will be celebrated this weekend at the Saltwater Coast Community Market.

Event organiser Catherine O’Connor said Saturday’s market would showcase local businesses and organisations and what the community had to offer more broadly.

“I moved to Point Cook from Albert Park over a year ago,” she said. “I’ve been blown out of the water seeing how amazing this place is. It’s a fabulous place to live with fabulous community spirit. Living in the west isn’t so bad.”

Last year, she launched the Saltwater Coast Business Chicks group in a bid to empower and support women working from their homes.

“It was all about women with great ideas,” she said. “And from that, I wanted to show how good it would be to branch out and showcase all people in the community.

“It’s all about helping residents find out about what’s happening in the area, putting them in touch with all the things going on.

“We’ll be bringing everything together, joining those dots. We want people to come and discover just how great it is to live and work in Point Cook and Wyndham more broadly.”

There will be 30 stalls for attendees to visit, and live music for entertainment.

The Saltwater Coast Community Market will be held at the Saltwater Community Centre, 153 Saltwater Promenade, Point Cook, on Saturday from 10.30am-4.30pm.
