A special production of Macbeth will be performed by students from Manor Lakes College later this month.
The school has teamed up with Western Edge Youth Arts to stage the show on Wednesday, September 19 and Thursday, September 20.
Western Edge Youth Arts is running an after-school program at Manor Lakes College, in which 30 participants from years 7 to 10 have been studying Macbeth through dance, physical theatre and film, in the lead-up to the performances.
The show has been described as “Macbeth like you’ve never seen it” and an “original re-imagining” of Shakespeare’s timeless classic, set in a dystopian world.
In the production, Macbeth works for Warlord Duncan, keeping the peasants in line.
Witches tell Macbeth that he can become the king, but whether he has the courage to seize his chance is something which only audiences will find out.
Macbeth will start at 7pm and be held at Amadeus Hall, Manor Lakes College, 2-50 Minindee Road, Wyndham Vale.
Tickets: Student/concession (must be under 18 years) $5, adults $10, plus a 30 cent booking fee if booked online.
