Man hospitalised after Werribee stand-off

A man has been taken to hospital for assessment following a stand-off with police in Werribee this morning.

Police were called to a property just after midnight on Monday, following reports an electronic monitoring bracelet had allegedly been tampered with.

Responding officers cordoned off Tamarind Crescent while they attempted to make contact with a man who was believed inside the home.

Local police and the Critical Incident Response Team were able to speak with the man before he came out of the home and was taken into custody without incident.

The 32-year-old man has been taken to hospital for treatment.

The investigation into the alleged tampering of the monitoring bracelet is ongoing.
