Man charged over Synnot Street crash

Police have charged a man following a single-vehicle crash in Werribee on Monday.

Emergency services were called to reports a car had left the road and crashed into a power pole and tree off Synnot Street about 2.25am on December 11.

The passenger, a 25-year-old Corio woman, was taken to hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

The driver, a 26-year-old Lara man, was taken to hospital but has since been charged with negligently causing serious injury, dangerous driving causing serious injury, trafficking a drug of dependence (methamphetamine) and possessing a drug of dependence (methamphetamine).

He has been remanded and is due to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, December 13.
