Man charged after child exploitation investigation

Police have charged a Werribee man with procuring and grooming a child under 16 for sexual activity.

The 35-year-old was charged after a search warrant was carried out at his home today, during which police seized a range of digital devices.

He has also been charged with soliciting child pornography and possessing a drug of dependence.

The man was bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The man was arrested by the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (JACET) which is comprised of investigators from Victoria Police and the Australian Federal Police, targeting online-influenced child sexual exploitation offences.
