A man has been arrested and is being questioned over a spate of grass fires along the Werribee River on the weekend.
Eighteen fires were lit along the Werribee River on Saturday and Sunday.
Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit’s detective senior constable Drew Corry said the man has been charged in relation to other matters and is assisting police with enquiries.
Werribee CFA declined to comment as the matter is under investigation.
