Man arrested after police officer struck in Point Cook collision

Police have arrested a man following a collision in Point Cook that left a police officer in hospital on Sunday, October 20.

Police say they located two people inside an allegedly stolen Mazda SUV on Sneydes Road about 1pm.

It is alleged that the 21-year-old driver tried to flee before hitting a police vehicle and knocking an officer to the ground.

Allegedly, the female passenger got out of the car and fled the scene on foot.

The injured police officer was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they located the vehicle in Catalina Court.

A man was arrested at a property on Campaspe Way in Point Cook about 8am on Monday, October 21.

He is set to be interviewed by police in relation to the incident.
