A five-bedroom house in Sanctuary Lakes has set a new record residential property price for Point Cook after selling for $2.7 million.

Sanctuary Lakes, Point Cook and Wyndham Residential Real Estate agencies director Fadi Saad said 22 Greg Norman Drive took about one week to sell.

Mr Saad said a local purchased the house, after searching for their dream house for years.

The house boasts golf course views, five bathrooms, a formal lounge, a swimming pool and basketball court.

The house which previously held the Point Cook price record – 21 Greg Norman Drive – sold for $2.65 million in 2017.

However, another Sanctuary Lakes abode could soon potentially set an even higher record price for Point Cook, with 19 Panorama Way listed for an indicative selling price of between $3.3 to 3.5 million.

The four-bedroom residence features an entrance with a custom-made teardrop crystal chandelier, a stainless steel chef’s kitchen with three ovens and two dishwashers, an entertaining room with a built-in bar and home cinema screen, and a swimming pool.

The landscaped gardens include a boardwalk extending along the waterfront.

Mr Saad said he has received offers “well above” $3 million for the house, which will be sold via a private sale.

“The majority of interest and inspections we have had has been reasonably local already, and we have received a couple of international calls too, from the Asia-Pacific region,” he said.

Mr Saad potential buyers from the northern and eastern suburbs had also inspected the house.

“On the other side of town, a similar offering, without the view, would be more than double the price,” he said.

“There is a very high demand and appetite for luxury home and bespoke-style homes, a lot of people are wanting to upgrade their home and lifestyle due to the pandemic and not being able to travel.”
