Local groups receive funding

The state government has provided funding for numerous community groups.

Community groups in Werribee will be able to undergo upgrades following a series of state government funding announcements.

Werribee MP Tim Pallas announced funding for the Wyndham based organisations through the state government’s Living Local Fund.

“We know the community deserves good infrastructure, programs and services to grow and thrive,” Mr Pallas said.

Iramoo Community Centre will receive $6163 in funding from the Community Grants Program include.

The Suburban Grants Program will fund $180,000 for Wyndham council’s Vincent Crescent Neighbourhood Renewal Project, $17,230 for the Scout Association of Australia, enabling the Werribee Scout Association to complete kitchen upgrades.

Funding of $20,000 each, was also announced for Werribee Baptist Church & Wyndham Community Benevolent Foundation to go towards Werribee Baptist Church Upgrades and the Wyndham Park Community Centre, for upgrades to their Ceramics Program.

More than 400 projects across the state were supported through the fund, local councils and community organisations have received grants of up to $200,000 for upgrades to shopping strips, playgrounds, community gardens and public art projects, or to buy new equipment or carry out minor refurbishment works.
