Lion cubs receive first check-up

Werribee Open Range Zoo’s seven-week old lion cubs have marked another milestone – getting their first health check.

With mum Nairibi enjoying breakfast in another den, vets and keepers were able to enter the area to quickly examine, weigh, microchip and vaccinate the cubs.

The team also determined their sex – two girls and two boys.

All four cubs are a good, healthy weight and are developing as they should.
