The Point Cook Homestead will provide a spook-tacular setting for a night of chills and thrills on May 13.

Lantern Ghost Tours and the escape room company TRAPT have teamed up to host an interactive expedition at the historic bluestone building, built in 1853.

Event attendees will be able to discover the homestead’s hidden past while solving clues to solve a murder mystery.

The homestead is believed to be haunted by the spirits of six people – including its original owner, Thomas Chirnside.

Thomas, who is believed to have been in love with his brother’s wife, committed suicide in 1887.

Another person who died on the grounds of the homestead was a young stable boy, who was accused of tampering with a race horse owned by the Chirnsides.

The homestead’s paranormal past includes stories of ghostly figures seen standing inside rooms, lights mysteriously switching on and kitchen utensils disappearing.

The Point Cook Homestead is at 1 Point Cook Homestead Road, Point Cook.

The cost to attend the Lantern Ghost Tours event is $34 per person. Attendees must be aged over 12. Bookings essential. Book online at lanternghosttours.rezdy.com or call 1300 390 119.
