The Lifeblood Donor Centre at 7 Bridge Street, Werribee, will be open seven days a week from May 30.

Lifeblood spokesperson Genevieve Dobson said it’s a “milestone for Melbourne,” with all metropolitan donor centres now open seven days a week.

“Werribee has been operating six days a week but the feedback we’ve had from donors is they would like more opportunities and flexibility,” she said.

“We anticipate the extended opening hours will enable Lifeblood to collect an additional 50-60 donations every week, which is great news for patients.

Ms Dobson said the centre has recently undergone multiple upgrades, including additional couches and a new open space.

“Donating blood only takes an hour of your time and can save up to three lives. With more flexibility than ever, there has never been a better time to roll up your sleeves and help patients in need,” she said.
