Students at Truganina’s Al-Taqwa College got to experience life as an artist last week when the school hosted its annual art exhibition.

The school opened its doors to the public on Friday afternoon and exhibited more than 55 pieces of art, including works from year 12 design folios, all inspired by the theme ‘Vision of the World’.

Visual communication teacher and event organiser Farid Benserai said the exhibiting years 7-12 students demonstrated their artistic flair through a range of mediums, including painting, 3D models and photogaphy.

“It’s a chance for students to exhibit their work and showcase their talent in the community in a real gallery environment,” Mr Benserai said.

“The type of work is fantastic. Our philosophy is that we teach students to think for themselves, and we always encourage them to be individual, and I think it came up in their work.

“It’s colourful, emotional, vibrant.

“We are very proud of our student’s work, it’s fantastic.”
