A 28-year-old Werribee man has been charged after police allegedly found more than 260 letters addressed to homes in Werribee, Hoppers Crossing and Point Cook in his car.
Officers stopped the man’s vehicle on Old Geelong Road, in Hoppers Crossing, about 5.10am on Thursday.
The letters and four credit cards, all with different names on them, were allegedly found during a search of the car.
The man has been charged with theft, handling stolen goods and possessing drugs.
He was bailed to appear in court in November.
