Werribee Hospital Foundation will host a fundraising barefoot bowls session at the Werribee Bowling Club during March.

The not-for-profit organisation is holding the event to raise funds for Werribee Mercy Hospital.

Foundation chief executive Leanne Down said: “Being active and taking care of your health is important, so why not make it fun.

“Now that the state is coming back to life, we think that combining some gentle competition with helping raise funds for a great cause is a great activity to get involved in with family and friends.

“The best thing of all is no experience is necessary.”

Ms Down said the barefoot bowls session will also feature a door prize and great raffle.

“We’d love the community to join us for a night of barefoot bowling with music and barbecue dinner,” she added.

“But tickets are limited, so don’t delay – kick off those shoes and come and play.”

Werribee Hospital Foundation was established in 1993 to support public hospitals within the Wyndham region.

The foundations’s key focus is generating funds to support and achieve high quality patient care for the community .

The foundation is not-for-profit and relies on the generosity of supporters.

The barefoot bowls session will be held at 6pm, Friday, March 18 at the Werribee Bowling Club, Chirnside Park (Watton Street entrance).

Tickets: $30 adults ($25 early bird – ends March 1 or until sold out), $20 children (18 and under).
