The Wyndham Westlink and Ison Road Bridge will receive $57 million in funding if the Labor government wins at the upcoming federal election.
When complete, the upgrades will create a direct link between Wyndham Vale and Manor Lakes to the Princes Freeway, providing an alternative for commuters and relieving congestion.
Lalor MP Joanne Ryan said the news is a “big win” for the community.
“Talking to locals, I hear again and again how important it is to upgrade roads and ease congestion,” she said.
“Wyndham is growing rapidly and we need to invest in infrastructure to keep up with demand.”
The state government has provided funding for early works and planning, enabling the federal government’s investment to go towards construction.
