A Hoppers Crossing store is thinking inside the box to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Storage King is “going pink” throughout October for its annual McGrath Foundation fundraising initiative during which the store donates a dollar from the sale of every standard moving box or carry box.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a time to understand the impact of breast cancer in the community, support those living with a previous diagnosis and their families.
Storage King store manager Kylie Willan said the fundraiser was a way to give back to the community.
“We do it every year and Storage King goes pink for the cause,” Ms Willan said. “This year we’re also selling badges, wrist bands and there will be a hamper drawn on November 1.
“It’s a good cause to get behind and we’d encourage anyone needing moving boxes to come in and make a donation.”
She said the store raised $1700 through a garage sale previously and hopes to top that this year.
