They may be young, but they can make a big difference.

That’s what grade 5 and 6 pupils at Wyndham Park Primary School learnt through being part of the Kids Thrive – Kids as Catalysts program in the past two terms.

Under the resilience and leadership program, pupils develop volunteering teams and work on projects to benefit their local community.

Grade 6 pupils Charlotte, Loisi, Schapelle and Savannah created 25 care packs for women and kids who experience family violence, sourcing items through donations.

The packs, donated to Uniting Wyndham last week, were filled with toiletries. The group also donated mobile phone chargers.

School captain Loisi said it was great to see their hard work come to fruition.

Schapelle added: “Kids can make a difference too.”
