Donning their new, slightly oversized school uniform, Werribee’s Parker and Zach are all set to start their first day of primary school.
The five-year-olds will join about one million students across the state, as they back to school for term one this year.
The twins’ mum, Meagan Jenner says the children heading off to school marks the end of a chapter.
“It probably pulls at the heart-strings a little bit this year, because this my last one with my twins being my third and fourth kids,” she said.
“They’re excited, which makes it easier for me.”
Meagan says her best advice for parents sending their own little ones off to school would be to let the kids lead the way.
“Let them find their journey and enjoy it with them,” she said.
The state government estimates 77,000 students will start secondary school, with a similar number set to begin their formal education journey in prep.
“I’d like to wish every student returning to school this week the best of luck in the coming year,” Education Minister Natalie Hutchins said.
“It’s an exciting time filled with new friends, learning and experiences that shape you forever.”
