A pop-up traffic park will be installed at Kelly Park in Werribee to help bicycle riders gain road sense and safety skills.
From 10-18 January, children aged three to 10 years and beginners can bring their bicycles and tricycles and explore the traffic simulation.
The set up will include mini shopfronts, road signs and colourful cycling zones, alongside free family activities throughout the week.
The pop-up cycling course is designed to help young riders practise real-world road rules in a safe and fun way. The track includes speed humps, crossings, traffic lights and plenty of turns.
Learn to cycle sessions will also be available for kids and adults, delivered by expert coaches from Community Bike Hub.
These sessions are ideal for first-time riders and anyone wanting to build confidence while learning the essentials of safe bike riding.
Drop in anytime to ride between 9.30am–4.30pm, or book in for a learn to cycle or bike mechanic session.
Mick the Mechanic will also be providing family entertainment that includes magic tricks as well as repairs.
Families are encouraged to make a day of it Werribee and visit other spots such as the Werribee Library and Wyndham Park.
Places are limited, so registration is essential.
