An invitation: eat drink, be merry

Food, wine and good times: that’s what’s on offer in this year’s Eat Drink Westside program.

Celebrating quality food and drink, the 10-day festa (March 31 to April 9) will offer 15 special events, offering up cuisines from around the world. It will be part of the 25th anniversary of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival.

Werribee South winery Shadowfax is on the program again to host the World’s Longest Lunch on March 31.

The lunch is for people to celebrate with friends and family over four courses of food made from local produce, matched with wines chosen by the winery’s sommelier.

Shadowfax general manager Phil Strachan said the Longest Lunch was one of Wyndham’s highlight food and wine events that “we use as a showcase for the range of outstanding local produce on our doorstep.

“For this year’s lunch, chef Ben D’arcy is presenting a seasonal menu of shared dishes and a selection of our most popular wines and latest releases. It promises to be one to remember.” Eat Drink Westside is spearheaded by Wyndham, Brimbank, Maribyrnong and Hobsons Bay councils.

Events are held across the western suburbs. Details, visit festivalcity.com.au To book, visit melbournefoodandwine.com.au
