Inclusive club makes harmony pitch

Howqua Reserve will be rechristened the Harmony in Cricket Ground for a day when Manor Lakes Cricket Club hosts its annual T20 Cup later this month.

There will be cricket matches and a fast-bowling pace-off competition, raffles, giveaways, player appearances, food stalls and more on March 13 from 10.30am until 3pm.

Manor Lakes Cricket Club founder Chris Riley says the club attracted about 150 people at its inaugural T20 Cup last year, and is confident it will get bigger numbers this year.

“Cricket is a game for everyone,” Mr Riley said.

“Manor Lakes Cricket Club is a place where everybody, regardless of their cultural background, religion, gender, age or ability, feels welcome.”
