Werribee Mercy Hospital will receive more than $1.16 million in funding from the state government, for medical equipment and engineering infrastructure replacements and upgrades.

Werribee MP Tim Pallas announced the funding last month.

Mr Pallas said that Mercy Health was one of 26 health services across the state to share in $60 million of funding, from the Medical Equipment Replacement Program and the Engineering Infrastructure Replacement Program.

Cutting-edge equipment funded as part of the programs includes CT units, digital x-ray units, ultrasounds, operating room microscopes and heart imaging equipment such as transesophageal echocardiogram units.

“Wyndham patients deserve the very best and safest care possible,” Mr Pallas said.

“That means giving our dedicated doctors and nurses the latest, cutting edge tools they need to do their job keeping us healthy and saving lives.

“This funding boost for Mercy Health will help maintain a high standard of care and provide a safe environment for their patients.”
