The Woolworths at Hogan’s Corner in Hoppers Crossing has undergone a deep clean, after a team member from the store tested positive for COVID-19 last month.

Star Weekly understands the Woolworths team member last worked at the Hogan’s Corner store on June 29, and is now in self-isolation.

The store became aware of the team member’s diagnosis on July 10 and has placed multiple signs throughout the shop, to notify customers.

A Woolworths spokesperson said: “We have been notified that a team member at our Hogan’s Corner store has tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

“We have made contact with our Hogan’s Corner store team members and will provide our full support to those required to self-isolate in line with advice from the health authorities.

“As a food retailer, we already have very high standards of cleaning and hygiene in place.

“While the risk of transmission to customers and team members is low, the safety and wellbeing of the local community is our priority.

“As an extra precautionary measure, the store has received an additional deep clean.

“Customers and team members should be assured they can continue to safely shop and work at our Hogan’s Corner supermarket.”

The Woolworths spokesperson said anyone who shopped in the Hogan’s Corner store on June 29, and who feels unwell in the next two weeks, should make contact with the Department of Health and Human Services.
