Police arrested two men in Hoppers Crossing today as part of an investigation into the illegal trafficking of steroids.
Police executed a warrant at a residential property on Fowler Street about 10am.
A 35-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, both from Hoppers Crossing, were arrested and will soon be interviewed by police.
While at the Fowler Street address, police seized approximately 100 litres of liquid (suspected to be liquid steroid), pill presses, a range of pharmaceutical drugs, drug paraphernalia and cash.
Police said they believed the drugs’ operation allegedly involved substances being advertised online and distributed by mail.
Detective Superintendent Deb Robertson said the seizure of the drugs was “a great result” for police.
“People who are using these methods to sell and distribute drugs can absolutely expect to be targeted by police,” she said.
Today’s police operation was carried out by Task Force Icarus, a partnership involving Victoria Police, Australian Federal Police and the Australian Border Force which targets people who seek to use the international mail and air cargo systems for criminal activity.
