Hoppers Crossing death suspect under police guard in hospital

A 51-year-old Hoppers Crossing man remains in hospital under police guard following the death of a 40-year-old Darley woman in Hoppers Crossing yesterday.

The homicide squad is continuing to investigate the woman’s death, which occurred early on the afternoon of Thursday, August 3 at a home in Grevillia Court, Hoppers Crossing.

Emergency services were called to the home after reports of a disturbance at about 1.15pm.

Soon after arriving, police apprehended a man found acting erratically at the scene.

The man had suffered serious upper-body injuries and was transported to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition.

In a subsequent search of the property, police found an unresponsive woman who later died at the scene.

It’s believed the pair were known to each other and police are not looking for anyone further at this time.

The exact cause of the woman’s death and the circumstances surrounding it are still to be determined.
