Hoppers Crossing carjacking

A man was assaulted by a group of offenders during a carjacking, which occurred in Hoppers Crossing on the weekend.

Police said blue Ford Falcon crashed into two parked cars outside a car dealership on Heaths Road about 3.40am on Saturday.

A staff member witnessed the crash and got out of his parked car to inspect the damage, when he was approached by five unknown males.

One unknown man got inside the victim’s parked car, a black Hyundai Tucson, while the others assaulted him.

The offenders then got into the vehicle and took off.

The 31-year-old victim was treated at the scene for minor facial injuries.

Investigators have urged anyone who sees the stolen Hyundai, bearing registration 1JG 7YT, to come forward.
