Hoppers Crossing: arrests after police cars rammed, alleged aggravated burglary

Update: Three teenagers have been charged, following the alleged ramming of a police car and an alleged aggravated burglary in Hoppers Crossing yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred at a Barber Drive home about 12.40pm, after which two police vehicles were allegedly rammed by a stolen car.

One police member sustained a hand injury during the second ramming and the police car sustained major damage.

In addition, a teenage girl home at the time of the alleged aggravated burglary was not injured.

Three 18-year-old men, from Bundoora, Epping and Brookfield, were arrested at the scene.

Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged the alleged offenders with 20 charges including aggravated home invasion, aggravated intentional exposure of an emergency services worker to risk by driving, conduct endangering life and other assault, burglary and theft charges.

The trio have been remanded to Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today for a filing hearing.
