History awards open

The 2024 Victorian Community History Awards are now open for entries.

There are 10 categories including Best History Publication, Article, Collaborative Project, Oral History, Community Diversity and Digital Storytelling. All entrants go into the running to receive the prestigious Victorian Premier’s History Award ($5000 prize).

Past award winners have included local exhibitions and anniversary projects, books, websites and even theatrical productions based on historical research. Local history and community groups, historians, museums, writers and creators are encouraged to enter.

The Victorian Community History Awards are presented by Public Record Office Victoria in partnership with the Royal Historical Society of Victoria to celebrate the people involved in community history projects that help all Victorians to better understand their past.
