Pupils at Al-Taqwa College cooked up a storm with former MasterChef finalist Michael Weldon last week.
Mr Weldon, who was runner-up in the third MasterChef television series, visited the Truganina school last Wednesday and helped to teach 30 grade 6 pupils about healthy eating.
Mr Weldon’s visit was part of a prize won by students at the school, after they entered the Coles Fresh Rainbow Challenge earlier this year.
Along with two other Australian schools, Al-Taqwa was named a winner in the competition, which asked schools to make videos showcasing healthy eating habits.
While he was at the school, Mr Weldon also taught students how to make their own version of his granola breakfast recipe, using yoghurt, grains, seeds and fruits.
