Harley impounded after u-turn goes wrong

A Harley Davidson motorcycle has been impounded following a collision with a police vehicle during the early hours of Saturday, July 12.

The motorcycle was allegedly spotted travelling at speeds of up to 140km/hr near the corner of Derrimut and Hogans roads at about 1am.

Police attempted to intercept the vehicle before it’s alleged the rider attempted to perform a u-turn and collided with one of the police vehicles.

The rider, a 49-year-old Hoppers Crossing man, is expected to be charged with drug driving, drink driving and other driving offences.

It is alleged that the rider returned an evidentiary breath test for alcohol of 0.18 and a positive oral fluid test for methamphetamine.

The motorcycle was impounded at a cost of $1225.
