Young Hannah is using her school holidays to fundraise for a good cause.
The eight year-old Werribee resident is participating in the Peppa Pig Practices Mindfulness initiative, which is encouraging kids to complete a mindfulness activity every day, while helping to raise funds for Save the Children’s efforts to assist young people doing it tough – such as those living in overseas refugee camps.
“I like doing it because I want poor children around the world to have homes and have money, to take care of them,” Hannah said.
Hannah said that by the end of October, she hopes to have raised $350 for Save the Children.
She has raised more than $170 so far, by saving up money in her piggy bank, doing chores at home and asking family and friends for donations.
Hannah’s mother Sindu said she was proud of her daughter thinking of people other than herself.
“Hannah says to me: “I’m so little, how am I going to make a difference?” Sindu said.
