Guides home on the open range

More than 600 Girl Guides from across the state had a “wild” camping experience earlier this month when they enjoyed a sleepover at the Werribee Open Range Zoo.

Guides from all over Victoria, including the Werribee branch, were welcomed by a band of African drummers for the Girl Guides Snoozefest, which also included a night walk around the zoo and toasting marshmallows on a fire.

Emma from Werribee Adventure Guides said the highlight was staying up late and taking part in fun activities.

Werribee Guide leader Rebecca Thornton said the snoozefest was a great chance for the girls to meet other Guides from around Victoria.
