A “bigger and better” Green Living series returns to Wyndham next month with more than 40 events to inspire residents to live more sustainably.
The annual program, running through February and March, includes a variety of events held at locations across Wyndham.
Wyndham environment and sustainability portfolio holder, Cr Heather Marcus encouraged residents to check out the range of events on offer.
“This is the seventh year we’ve held the Green Living series. It launched in 2014 as a trial, with just 10 events attended by 179 people,” Cr Marcus said.
“Last year we had more than 40 events, with around 4,100 people attending – and I’m confident this year will be bigger and better than ever before.”
The launch of this year’s series, on February 1, will include a screening of the documentary 2040 followed by a question and answer session with film director Damon Gameau.
“This film follows Gameau, concerned about his daughter’s future, as he travels the world in search of new and innovative approaches and solutions to climate change.”
Other highlights of the series include food demonstrations and tastings, seaweed foraging, information sessions on solar energy, sustainable fashion, Aboriginal cultural activities and a tour of Mount Rothwell.
