Tarneit Night Market returns next week, with Wyndham council calling on residents to make the most of the warm summer nights and head down to the Penrose Promenade Community Centre.

The night market, which made its debut in March on the grounds of the community centre, will be back on Friday, December 14, and will feature handmade crafts, music and food from all over the world.

Included in the free event will be a moonlight cinema screening from 8.30pm.

The council’s cultural diversity portfolio holder Henry Barlow said the March Tarneit Night Market had been a great success and he anticipated that next week’s event would be just as popular.

Cr Barlow said the event was a terrific way to celebrate Tarneit’s multicultural population.

“Visitors to this family-friendly event will be able to try food from all over the world, while there will also be a diverse range of crafts from local businesses and free entertainment,” he said.

“Tarneit is a proudly diverse community, with more than half of residents born overseas, and this event is an excellent way to celebrate that diversity.”

The market will run 6-9pm.
