It’s the thought that counts – just ask Truganina South Primary School pupils Lexus, Yahiya, Boston and Stephen.

They were all smiles when their school received a grant from Tarneit West Village’s Thoughts That Count grant program.

As part of the initiative, which began in November last year, shoppers voted for three community organisations in the running for shares in a $1500 grant. The school received the most votes, winning $750 from the shopping village. Hoppers Crossing Tennis Club received $450 and Williams Landing Sports Club received $300.

Truganina South Primary School spokeswoman Sharon Dunne said the school was “extremely grateful” for the Thoughts That Count funding.

“This money will assist us to continue supporting the students and we plan to use it to purchase games to help with the development of social skills,” she said.

Tarneit West Village marketing manager Danielle Sita said the centre was delighted to help groups in the community.
