Ganesh festival returns

The 8th annual Ganesh Chaturthi Utsav, the largest Ganesh festival in Melbourne, took place on Saturday, September 23 at Wyndham’s Eagle Stadium in Werribee.

The Ganesh festival showcases the intensity of Melbourne’s multiculturalism

by actively encouraging participation from the entire community. Through

collaboration and engagement, the festival seeks to develop long-term

partnerships with other community organisations, fostering a sense of unity

and cooperation.

General Manager of Eagle Stadium, Rod Gaut, expressed his excitement for

this year’s event.

“The Ganesh Chaturthi Utsav has become a

cherished tradition in Melbourne, bringing together people from all walks of life

to celebrate diversity and harmony,” Mr Gaut said.

“We are thrilled to be celebrating the 8th

year at Eagle Stadium.”

Known for its diverse range of activities, this year’s festival included traditional

dances, captivating singing performances, and mesmerizing displays of

artwork.

Attendees also had the opportunity to savour authentic Indian cuisine

from various food stalls, adding to their cultural experience.
