The Wyndham Art Gallery in Werribee is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a special exhibition titled DECADE.
DECADE reflects on the past 10 years of artistic programming in the gallery, which is based at the Wyndham Cultural Centre, with a publication and dedicated archival website.
Wyndham’s creative city portfolio holder, Councillor Marcel Mahfoud, said: “Wyndham city is proud to celebrate this momentous milestone that celebrates 10 years of artistic programming and delivers council’s commitment to make art accessible for the community.
“We are honoured that Wyndham Art Gallery has emerged to prominence, gaining a reputation as the biggest little gallery in the west of Melbourne.
“I am a passionate supporter of the arts, and DECADE acknowledges and showcases the many wonderful creative artists that have exhibited here over the last 10 years.”
Cr Mahfoud said DECADE featured a retrospective of some of the prominent works that been shown in more than 70 exhibitions, since the gallery opened in 2011.
DECADE’s dedicated exhibition website was created by Forde and Nico.
The site features podcasts, videos, images and exhibition catalogues from the gallery’s past decade.
A celebratory anniversary publication, co-published with Black Ink Books, will be launched in mid-2022.
Entry to the Wyndham Art Gallery is free.
The gallery is open from 9am-5pm Mondays to Fridays and 11am-4pm weekends.
The gallery is closed on public holidays and will also be closed from December 23, 2021 to January 3, 2022.
