From the funky town of their youth to Werribee now, chart topping 80s band Pseudo Echo performs live at Station Place next month.
Best known for their chart-buster Funky Town, which hit number one in 28 countries in 1985, the band will be on stage again at Werribee on February 10 for a one-off free show.
Formed by a group of school friends in 1982, Pseudo Echo went on to release four studio albums before disbanding in 1990. The group got back together in 1998, releasing a further two studio albums.
The band will be taking a brief break from its summer tour to perform at Station Place.
Wyndham council’s arts portfolio holder Tony Hooper is excited for the performance.
“Many people in Wyndham, including myself, grew up to the music of Pseudo Echo, so it’s really exciting that they will be performing a free concert in Werribee as part of Friday LIVE,” Cr Hooper said.
Friday LIVE is a three-week program of music being held during February. There will be a line-up of 17 bands and solo artists taking the stage over the course of the month.
Performances are scheduled between 5pm and 10pm every Friday during February, starting February 10.
