Wyndham council has given more than $462,000 in funding to several community groups, programs and events.

The council announced the funding, part of its 2018-19 Community Grants Program, at a ceremony held earlier this month.

Thirty community organisations have received grants from the council.

Tweddle Child and Family Health Service’s Working Out Dads Wyndham program received $19,035.

In addition, VICSEG received $40,000 to establish two Horn of Africa women’s health and wellbeing groups, along with two culturally-diverse playgroups, in Wyndham.

The Western Community Legal Centre (also known as WEstjustice) was allocated $30,528 to develop a project to train bilingual community workers to deliver legal education sessions to newly-arrived residents.

The Remember the Wild charity received $38,400 to host a Connected to Port Phillip summer festival at Point Cook Coastal Park.
