Entries open for Wyndham Fun Run

It’s time to throw on your runners and start hitting the pavement – entries for the Wyndham Rotary Fun Run are now open.

There’s just over 11 weeks to prepare for one of Wyndham’s biggest fun runs, which will start at Chirnside Park and wind along the Werribee River trail on February 28.

Keen runners can sign up for a five-kilometre or 10-kilometre course, and for those looking for a more leisurely outing, there are four-kilometre and eight-kilometre walking tracks.

The fun run is one of Wyndham Rotary’s biggest fundraisers and has raised more than $60,000 for the Royal Children Hospital’s Good Friday Appeal in the past nine years.

Max Coster, of Wyndham Rotary, said the club was expecting more than 1000 people to take part.

“It’s as much a community health program as it is a fundraiser,” Mr Coster said.

“We want the people of Wyndham to get out and get going.”

The club is also running a community festival for participants to enjoy at the end of the fun run, with community displays, a jumping castle, a petting farm and entertainment.
