Four teens arrested after police chase

Four teenagers have been arrested after allegedly stealing a car and leading police on a dramatic chase.

Police received reports that a BMW X5 allegedly stolen from a home in Hampton early this morning, was sighted in Williams Landing.

Police allege the driver rammed a police car as it tried to get away.

The Air Wing assisted units on the ground as the vehicle travelled on the Princes Freeway, onto Old Geelong Road and into Altona North before crashing into a parked car and reaching a dead end in a carpark in Truganina.

Police arrested a female occupant when she was dropped off near Sayers road.

A 16-year-old girl from Tarneit has been charged with theft of motor car and bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

The driver, a 14-year-old from Hampton, was charged with theft of motor vehicle and serious driving related offences.

It is expected she will appear before court for a remand hearing.

Two boys, a 13-year-old from Frankston and a 14-year-old from Narre Warren have been cautioned.
