A planting day with a seaside vibe will be held this Sunday at the Werribee South foreshore.

You can head down to JD Bellin Reserve to help rejuvenate the area with landscaping and planting from 10.30am to noon.

The green thumbs and community-minded residents who participate will receive plants to take home.

The planting day is an initiative by a group taking part in the Wyndham council Building Blocks program, a 14-week leadership project run in conjunction with Victoria University.

Nick Alderson, one of the organisers, said the day was aimed at community involvement.

“We’re trying to build an ownership connection with the park,” he said.

“The more knowledge you have about something, the more likely you are to care about it.”

Registrations are required.
