More than 17,000 people flocked to Werribee Park for the annual State Rose and Garden Show at the weekend.

The event, which was held at the Victorian State Rose Garden on Saturday and Sunday, gave visitors a chance to admire the thousands of colourful blooms planted at the site.

Activities included lawn games, face-painting, gardening workshops and live music.

Well-known garden experts, including television identity Vasili Kanidiadis and Werribee horticulturalist Craig Castree, gave presentations.
