Werribee Hockey Club paid tribute to club stalwart Allan Purcell, hosting the Allan Purcell Memorial Round at the weekend. Mr Purcell had been associated with the club for 38 years before his death last May. At the weekend, his family escorted the men’s Vic League 1 teams onto the pitch and a minute’s silence was held before the start of the game. Star Weekly photographer Damjan Janveski was there.
