Firearms incident in Point Cook

Police have charged a man following a firearms incident in Point Cook yesterday, but are still searching for a second man who they believe was also involved.

Police said they believe a number of shots were fired in the vicinity of Adelphi Boulevard just after 5.30pm. No one was injured.

A 27-year-old South Melbourne man has been charged with possessing the proceeds of crime, possessing ammunition and drug-related offences.

He was remanded to appear at Sunshine Magistrates’ Court later today.

Investigators are yet to locate the firearm involved in the incident.

They are also still looking for a second man who is believed to have been involved in the incident.

The man is perceived to be of Middle Eastern appearance and has short hair.

He was wearing a red top, white T-shirt, black pants and black footwear.

Police believe the people involved in the firearms incident are known to each other.
