Emergency services responded to multiple calls about a house fire on Barrot Avenue, Hoppers Crossing at about 7.46pm on September 14.
Fire trucks arrived on scene within seven minutes to find a single storey house on fire, with flames rising from the roof.
Fire Rescue Victoria and Country Fire Authority firefighters in breathing apparatus contained the fire to the rear rooms and ceiling space of the house, before declaring the fire under control at 8.17pm.
Fire Rescue Victoria said the house sustained significant damage but was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
