Public toilets will be installed in four Wyndham parks under a new council proposal.

Council is planning to install the toilets at Everton Road Park in Truganina, Hodgson Avenue Park in Tarneit, Tom Roberts Reserve in Point Cook and Spearmint Boulevard Park in Manor Lakes.

Council is seeking the community’s feedback on the proposed installations.

The program of public toilet installation follows research that shows that access to safe and clean toilets is a drawcard for visitors to Wyndham’s network of parks and open spaces, council said.

Mayor Jennie Barrera said the four parks were identified as locations in need of public toilets.

“There’s gaps in our existing network of public toilets and we’re often asked for new installations,” she said.

“Council has mapped current toilet facilities, identified issues with their provision and management, and developed an implementation framework – this result being a destination-based approach to providing public toilets.”

Residents can have their say during drop-in sessions at Everton Road Park on Saturday, August 10, from 11-noon; Hodgson Avenue Park on Saturday, August 10, from 12.30pm-1.30pm; Tom Roberts Reserve on Saturday, August 17, from 11am-noon; and Spearmint Boulevard on Saturday, August 17, from 1pm-2pm; or online by August 30.
